Island Dolphin Care is a not-for-profit organization in Key Largo, FL with 8 bottlenose dolphins living in their care. While the worldview of cetaceans living in captivity is evolving, it is IDC’s priority is to give these beautiful animals the best purposeful life possible. They did not put them there, but they do take responsibility for them. Their values in regards to dolphins that know no other life besides a captive one, is a model that I hope more adopt. The work they do is truly inspiring.
Through this experience I have gained an even better understanding of how people come together to help one another. It has ignited a drive in me to apply my experience and skills in ways that are meaningful. I am so grateful that we found each other.
